Meeting Venue

All members meetings will take place at the following venue, meeting in the bar area from 7:00pm, with doors opening to the function room at 7:30 pm and closing at 11:00 pm. Speakers will start at around 8:00pm.

Venue:      Function Room, The Venue, Kirklington Road, Rainworth, Nr Mansfield, Notts. NG21 0JR

Meetings will take place on the 2nd Tuesday of each month

Directions: On the Mansfield road / A614 crossroads. Follow signs for Rainworth, club is on right hand side as you enter Rainworth, grey building, limited parking to front, further parking at the rear. If necessary public parking close to venue.

All anglers very welcome, Junior members must be accompanied by an adult.

Admission & Charges

Members Meetings: Members £3.00, Non-members £4.00, Juniors Free

Fish-ins (Members Only) Seniors £10.00,  Juniors Free (optional pools for Senior Members)

The Regional Association is non-profit making. All profits will go directly back to the region to cover the cost of club activities. Any profits from charity events will go directly to the designated charity. Financial updates will be given at every members meeting and accounts may be viewed by any member, giving 28 days notice to the Treasurer or Regional Organisers.

Guests are very welcome to attend all meetings with the exception of the Members Only Meeting in June and Presentation Evening in April. Fish-ins are only open to Members.

During the Members Only Meeting in June it was decided to have at least 6 fish-ins throughout the season. This year we will be running a series of 5 tow fish-ins + the Charity Fish-in which will again be held at Girton. Points from all 6 events will go towards the end-of-season results.

Special Awards

RA26  Senior Member of the Year Award - Engraved Salver

RA26 Junior Member of the Year award - Engraved Salver

Engraved platters will be presented in both Senior and Junior classes for the regional members who have demonstrated their outstanding commitment and contribution to the club, pike welfare and conservation - as nominated by other club members.

Engraved trophies will be presented in both Senior and Junior classes for the biggest pike of the season caught during a local event. - Trophies donated by Pikemaster Traces www.piketrace.co.uk

All trophies, shields and special awards will be presented at our Presentation Evening which will be held in April.

Winners of special awards will be announced on the evening.

Match Rules

These rules are listed as a formality, the main rules are 'common sense' and above all 'enjoy your fishing'.

  1. Anglers must be in possession of and use the following:
    • Forceps (no gags)
    • Wire cutters (recommended)
    • Unhooking mat (must be ready for use)
    • Wire traces (recommended min. 26lb breaking strain, 18 inches long)
    • Min. 15 lb breaking strain line or min 30lb braid (recommended)
    • Suitable landing net (min. 36 inch recommended)
    • Effective indication system (for runs and drop-backs)
    • Semi-barbless or barbless hooks (unless otherwise specified)
    • Suitable pike or carp rods (recommended min. 21/2 lb test curve)
    • Suitable pike or carp sack / tube
  2. Junior anglers must be accompanied by an adult
  3. Junior members may be assisted with all aspects of their fishing
  4. No live baits (If allowed must have been caught from the same water)
  5. Your peg will be allocated by your individual random draw
  6. Only fish your allocated pegged swim (no moving without Steward's authority)
  7. The organiser will start and end the match with the sound of a whistle
  8. No pre-baiting (No bait to enter the water until the start whistle is blown)
  9. Any appeal against allocated swim to be made within 30 mins. of start whistle (i.e. if the swim is unfishable, iced-up, weeded-up or unsafe)
  10. Only 2 rods to be used at any one time
  11. Only fish half way between your swim and neighbouring and opposing swim
  12. No wading (unless authorised by the steward)
  13. No balloon-drifted baits
  14. Noise must be kept to a minimum
  15. Rods must not to be left unattended at any time
  16. All runs must be dealt with promptly (gorge tactics will result in disqualification)
  17. You may assist another angler in landing a fish
  18. You may assist another angler in unhooking a fish
  19. You must inform the Steward of a catch as soon as possible
  20. Pike must not be kept in a tube or sack any longer than necessary (recommended max. 30 mins)
  21. No more than 1 pike to be retained in a sack or tube at the same time
  22. Pike must be returned to the water immediately after weighing
  23. Dead or damaged pike will not be weighed in
  24. Your swim must be left clear of any litter at the end of the match
  25. Local wildlife, water fowl, livestock and property must be respected
  26. The Steward may ensure that you have all the required tackle and that it is of a suitable standard. The Steward may inspect your tackle, equipment and methods at any time during the match. Any angler found to be transgressing from the PAC Code of Conduct or Match Rules or endangering the quarry in the eyes of the Steward will be disqualified from the match with immediate effect. The Steward's decision will be final in all matters. All results will be published.

Match Rules may vary due to specific fishery rules, Local Authority Regulations or By-laws. You will be informed of any changes to the above prior to the match starting.

Be aware that any anglers or spectators attending or taking part in events will be seen by others as representative of the PAC and any wrong-doing may reflect on the reputation of the club and it's future use of the venue.
